Darryl! I don't know if you remember me, but I spoke with you after your screening in Towson, Maryland up at Sheppard Pratt. Maybe the name Cecelia rings a bell? I guess I don't know. But, either way, I really do hope the remainder of your tour goes well, actually I'm sure it will because your film is absolutely amazing. Best movie I've seen in a long time, and I'm not typically a movie person. So just wishing you the best.BR/I hope your touring is going well, and you better keep up with your blogging!!

I just got home from your screening at UA in Tucson, and I wanted to thank you for doing this tour (especially given your fear of flying!).BR/BR/I wanted to ask you what other things you uncovered throughout the process of making the documentary that followed in the same line as the bit of information you included about diverting women#39;s attentions from the political arena to beauty pageants in the 20#39;s. I am constantly amazed at the levels to which the public feels complacent in their knowledge, overly faithful in the good intentions of their politicians and corporations. This is so pervasive that we as general public have been convinced that to be outspoken, radical, or point out conspiracies...this makes a person a wack-job, a nutso, an quot;out therequot; one. BR/BR/There is so much subversion hidden so well, so deeply within our society, it#39;s often astounding to people that these conspiracies against the health and safety of the public go unnoticed for such a long space of time. What I find fascinating and terrifying is that when these ideas are linked, such as the beauty pageant bit you mention in the film, people discount it. We are so trained to think that conspiracy is quot;fringequot;, ludicrous, outlandish, fodder for sci-fi novels...and who benefits from our disbelief? The major corporations that feed us this opinion in the first place!BR/BR/I guess I just wanted to say thank you, because you certainly inspired thought on my part. It was a wonderful, thoughtful documentary. One last question I had was, why only portray the heterosexual view of mainstream American culture? Everything revolved around the interactions between women and men, men and women...did you decide to trim that because of time constraints? Was it a different picture than the straight world within America? I know you mentioned interviewing gay men about body image towards the end of the Qamp;A, that#39;s why I ask...BR/BR/Thanks!BR/BR/Bri

I've been getting your e-mail updates for months now and America the Beautiful is finally coming to my city! I bought advance tickets and I can't wait. This looks like such an important film for many reasons and I am so excited to be able to see it!

Thanks for bringing your film to Buffalo, Darryl. I may only be one person, but I'm telling as many people as I can about it...including several teachers in our local middle and high schools. Keep up the great work spreading your message. It needs to be heard and your movie needs to be seen. Best regards!
